HFC WORKING WITH CONSORTIUM PROCUREMENT: save time, money and hassle through Smarter Procurement

HFC are delighted to be working in partnership with Consortium Procurement – and offering our HFC and FM Knowledge Exchange members a great discount: by going through HFC, you don’t have to pay the membership fee, giving you an immediate saving.

Finding the right suppliers – and going through the right process – can be stressful, time consuming and expensive, drawing you away from your other priorities, and running the risk of making the wrong choice or laying yourself open to legal challenge.

Our new deal with Consortium Procurement means NHS bodies can join over 300 existing member organisations – including many NHS Trusts – to access their expert help and 12 fully tendered framework agreements – and a bespoke procurement service.

Consortium Procurement undertakes the pre-qualification stage to create the framework. They also produce the call off contract for you, using standard terms and conditions and can offer expert support and advice at any stage of the process.

All public sector organisations can access their framework agreements and services. To be able to do so, they will need to become a member of the Consortium and pay a membership fee: however, HFC has corporate membership so all members of HFC and FM Knowledge Exchange can access the frameworks and the service for FREE.

What are the benefits?

  • Value for money: better value solutions AND savings on the cost and time of procurement and tendering. Consortium Procurement saved their members £10 million in 2017/18 – and an average saving of more than £30,000
  • Peace of mind that the approach is compliant, fair, transparent, reflecting EU and UK procurement rules, and means access to high quality, approved companies
  • National coverage: All the frameworks and agreements cover all of the UK
  • Dedicated team of procurement experts and account executives who will guide and support you through the process

What’s on the Frameworks?

Consortium Procurement offers a range of frameworks including:

Water Treatment Services
NHS colleagues will be well aware of the consequences of Legionella – and that all those who own or manage properties with any hot and cold water systems have a responsibility to ensure they are properly serviced, cleaned and maintained in line with The Legionella Control Association (LCA) Codes of Conduct. To support clients, Consortium Procurement has created a framework that provides a flexible approach to procuring services from suitably qualified and experienced companies, thus enabling the NHS to meet its responsibilities under Health and Safety Executive Guidance HSG274. This framework covers consultancy and water quality system maintenance in a wide range of facilities.

Technology Enabled Care Services
Consortium Procurement has 20 years experience in telecare, and has recently re-tendered to create a new Technology Enabled Care Services (TECS) framework, covering telehealth, telecare, telemedicine, telecoaching and self–care, offering access to fifteen companies across the UK. This means healthcare bodies are better able to provide high quality, cost effective care for patients with long term conditions that is convenient, accessible and empowering for individuals.

The comprehensive framework offers a flexible menu of services and options designed so that clients can create their own bespoke approach, and includes:

Installation Services
Service, Maintenance and Repair
Call Monitoring
Mobile Response
Control Centre Equipment (Installation/Maintenance)

Asbestos Management Services
Although asbestos is now banned in the UK, many older buildings may still have asbestos in them, which may be released if it is disturbed, with devastating consequences for anyone who comes into contact with it. To support clients, Consortium Procurement have developed a framework that will help duty holders ensure their properties are safe for people who live, work in or visit them. This framework offers access to 24 companies across the UK, and includes a comprehensive specification designed to meet the client’s own bespoke requirements. It includes:

Management of asbestos services, including surveying, sampling, air monitoring and consultancy
Removal and remedial work, both licensed and non-licensed, as well as consultancy
Training services, including Asbestos awareness and Regulation 4 Duty of Care
