HFC were invited by the Department of Health (DH) to contribute to the consultation process for the revised HTM07-03 ‘NHS Car-parking Management’ guidance. We opened this invitation up to all our members, collating the feedback received and passing it on to DH for inclusion in the final guidance document.

You may be aware that HFC has worked with the British Parking Association (BPA) for some time. Having been in existence for some 40 years, the BPA are the definitive resource for any matters relating to parking from charging to standards to lobbying government for change and recognition of the profession as a whole.

The BPA are keen for HFC and our members to become involved in their work and help promote healthcare parking issues wherever possible, especially to help counter the negative press they so often receives. To that end, HFC has been actively involved in a number of key healthcare-related areas including contributing to the Professional Development and Standards Board and inputting to the revision of the Healthcare Parking Charter, which will see the introduction of auditable criteria.

We will continue to offer our members opportunities to contribute to guidance, standards and other key issues across the wider Estates and Facilities Management remit as and when they arise.
